The Generous
“Giving energises you.”
The Divine Names
Al-Karim · Al-Wahhab · Al-Basit
You carry a reflection of Allah's attributes of boundless generosity, unconditional bestowal, and expansive provision.
The portrait
Where others calculate before giving, weighing the cost and measuring the return, you give before calculating. Where others measure return on investment, you measure breadth of impact. Generosity for you is not a moral discipline you force upon yourself. It is a natural state that actually energises rather than depletes you. Al-Wahhab means 'The Bestower': the One who gives without being asked. Your giving is not strategic philanthropy. It is an overflow.
Core question: “What gifts am I uniquely positioned to share abundantly?”
You might be the Generous if…
You feel richer after giving, not poorer.
You notice opportunities to share and contribute that others walk past.
You are uncomfortable accumulating without distributing.
People describe you as "generous to a fault".
You give your time, knowledge, connections, and resources freely.
You instinctively create abundance for others: connecting people, sharing opportunities, opening doors.
From the tradition
Uthman ibn Affan576–656
His generosity was legendary. He purchased the well of Ruma for public access, financed the army of Tabuk, and expanded the Prophet's mosque. He gave until he had nothing left.
